Budget 2025 will create new confidence, give energy for Viksit Bharat: PM Modi

New Delhi/IBNS: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Friday said his government's first full budget since coming to power for the third term will "create new confidence" and provide "energy for Viksit Bharat".

Modi said this as the budget session of parliament started on Friday.

Addressing the media, the prime minister said, "The people of the country have given me this responsibility for the third term and this is the first full budget of this third term.

"This budget session and more precisely budget 2025 will create a new confidence and will provide new energy so that India remains a developed country (Viksit Bharat) when it celebrates its 100th year of independence."

Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget on February 1.

The Modi government returned to power with a depleting number of seats in 2024 for the third uninterrupted term, a feat which was only achieved by the country's first prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

Referring to various anti-government foreign reports that had rocked the parliament sessions in the previous years, Modi said he has experienced no "external interference" this time.

"Since 2014, this is the first parliamentary session that has not experienced any external interference. Over the years, I have observed that there has been no shortage of individuals willing to stir up trouble and escalate issues," the PM said.

The Prime Minister has also said the young MPs have an opportunity to contribute to the country's story of development in this budget session.

"In this budget session, all the MPs will contribute towards strengthening developed India. This is a golden opportunity especially for the young MPs," Modi said.
