Guwahati, July 14 (IBNS): While 25 districts in Assam are reeling under flood waters with over 14.17 lakh people affected, the flood waters also submerged several Border Out Posts (BOPs) of the Border Security Force (BSF) along the Ind-Bangladesh border and CRPF camps in the state.
In Assam’s Karimganj district, the flood waters have submerged at least four BOPs of the Border Security Force (BSF) after the Kushiyara river flowing above danger level mark following incessant rainfall.

According to the reports, the BOPs Stimerghat, Chandsrikona, Charbazar and Jagannathi have been submerged by flood waters.
The BSF jawans deployed in the BOPs are now facing lot of problems following the flood situation.

The water level in the BOPs has increased up to 3 feet.
“The water level as of now is 2-2.5 feet and it increasing gradually. BSF’s motto is to create sense of security among the people of the border and maintain sensitive of the border in any condition and situation. The BSF is working any tough weather conditions. The waters have entered the BOPs... Despite these problems, the BSF jawans are on duty 24 hours a day. We cannot leave the border at any cost,” the BSF official said.

A similar situation prevailed at a CRPF camp in Assam’s Barpeta district, where the flood waters have submerged entire the camp.
