Jalandhar/UNI: The Border Security Force (BSF) early Wednesday morning foiled a big attempt of the Pakistan based drug smugglers to push a huge assignment of contraband suspected to be heroin in Amritsar sector.

The alert BSF troops heard a loud noise of a drone flying over the Indian territory over a village in Amritsar district.

The BSF troops soon fired upon the object and brought it down.

During a search conducted by the BSF, two big packets of drugs suspected to be heroin weighing 15.5 kg were recovered from the field in Kakkar village, which were dropped from the drone.

Value of the drugs seized is said to be over Rs 77.50 crore in the international market.
