BSF apprehends two inter state fake currency note racketeers
"On 12th May 2015 BSF Intelligence branch received a pin point information on May 12, 2015 information about the fake Indian Currency Note consignment moving from Malda to Farakka. The troops of 20 Bn and 125 Bn launched a special joint operation with police station Kaliachawk and placed troops at three chalking points to apprehend the racketeers. The party intercepted one suspected silver colour Maruty Swift Dezire having registration of Punjab bearing No PB 23R1926 at around 1 PM," the BSF said in a statement.
"The car was stopped and two suspects detained. After searching the car the joint operation party succeeded to recover one black colour plastic bag containing fake notes of face value Rs 9 Lacs in denomination of 1000, 500. Indian currency Rs 5,000, four ATM cards, two Chinese wristwatch, four mobile phones, and miscellaneous personnel items etc were also recovered from their possession. Apprehended smugglers revealed their identities as Sunesh Sharma ( 50 yrs), S/O Daya Ram, R/O House no 178, Sec-VII, PS Sadar, Ambala City(Hariyana) and Rajan Chopera (25 yrs), S/O Ranjit Singh, R/O House No 259, Subhash Nagar, PS+R/O- Mandi Govind Garh(Panjub). Apprehended smugglers along with seized fake currency notes has been handed over to PS Kaliachowk and FIR has been lodged with PS Kaliachowk for legal action," it said.
BSF South Bengal Frontier has seized fake currency notes more than Rs.1,31,96,000/- in the year of 2015 and apprehended 11 fake currency notes racketeers.
