British Foreign Minister to visit India

New Delhi, July 5 (IBNS) United Kingdom's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs William Hague will visit India on Monday, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Saturday.

Hague will meet top Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, during his two-day trip to the Asian nation.

"The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, United Kingdom, Mr. William Hague and the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Mr. George Osborne will be on an official visit to India from 07-08 July, 2014," the MEA said in a statement on Saturday.

"It said: The UK Foreign Secretary will hold delegation level talks with External Affairs Minister, Smt. Sushma Swaraj, at Hyderabad House on 8 July 2014. Both sides will discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest."

" The Chancellor of the Exchequer will hold Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) with the Finance and Defence Minister Shri Arun Jaitley. The two Ministers will make a joint call on Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 8th July 2014. They are also scheduled to visit Mumbai. The two Ministers will be accompanied by an official delegation which would include three other UK Ministers - Mr.Gregory Barker MP, Minister for Business Engagement with India and Minister of State for Climate Change and Energy; Mr. Oliver Letwin MP, Minister for Government Policy in the Cabinet Office and Mr. Joseph Edmund Johnson MP, Cabinet Office Minister," the MEA said.
