Bodies of six quake victims of Assam reached in Guwahati

Guwahati, Apr 29 (IBNS): The bodies of six women of Assam, killed in the massive earthquake in Nepal, were brought to Guwahati on Wednesday and later cremated, officials said.
A top official of the state government said that, six bodies among the seven victims of the state, who were killed in the massive earthquake in Nepal were brought to Guwahati on Wednesday evening.
 
"The bodies were reached to Delhi from Kathmandu and flown to Borjhar International airport in Guwahati, who were on pilgrimage to the Himalayan region, " the official said.
 
The bodies had sent to the respective homes and later cremated.
 
The victims were Kalpana Adhikari, Bhumika Das, Joysree Das, Rina Das, Bhanita Deka and Hema Saikia.
 
The body of the other victim have yet to be recovered in the earthquake hit country.
 
On other hand, at least 13 people of Assam are not traceable in Nepal.
 
"43 people of Assam are still stranded in Nepal and we had contacted with 20 among them, but 13 people are not traceable so far, " Assam police ADGP Umesh Kumar said.
 
On other hand, seven people including a girl hailing from Shillong in Meghalaya had reached Guwahati on Wednesday who stranded in Nepal.
 
Riya Singh, who studied medical science in Kathmandu, reached at the capital city of Assam from Delhi.
