BJP’s central observers reach Raipur; suspense over Chhattisgarh CM likely to end

| @indiablooms | Dec 10, 2023, at 07:51 pm

Raipur: BJP’s central observers reached the party headquarters in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur on Sunday amid suspense over the state’s chief minister, media reports said.

The party is yet to decide who would helm the government in Chhattisgarh even after seven days since the election results.

Union Ministers Arjun Munda, Sarbananda Sonowal and BJP general secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam, who have been appointed central observers for Chhattisgarh, reached the capital of Chhattisgarh.

The central observers of the party arrived in the Naxal-affected state of Chhattisgarh to complete the selection process for the state's next chief minister.

Their leader would meet recently-elected 54 MLAs in the state capital.

The legislative party leader is expected to be chosen during the meeting scheduled for later today.

The Congress has criticised BJP for the delay in announcing state leadership in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, even a week after the election results were declared.

Meanwhile, BJP's Chhattisgarh in-charge, Om Mathur, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and party co-in-charge for the state, Nitin Nabin, have arrived at Chhattisgarh's Swami Vivekananda Airport.
