BJP postpones UP manifesto release in wake of Lata Mangeshkar's demise

Lucknow/UNI: Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has postponed the release of Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra (poll manifesto) on Sunday due to the demise of Lata Mangeshkar.

UP BJP president Swantra Deo Singh announced this at a programme where the manifesto was slated to be released.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had arrived in Lucknow for this manifesto release.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath was also present at the venue. Condolence was also paid in presence of Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath.

Now the manifesto is expected to be released on Feb 8 while the first phase of polls is scheduled on Feb 10.

However, BJP leaders will continue their campaigning in a simple manner but no new programmes would be added in the next two days.
