BJP offered me Delhi CM post: AAP leader Kumar Vishwas

| | Aug 30, 2014, at 07:18 pm
New Delhi, Aug 30 (IBNS) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas has said that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had offered him the post of chief minister of Delhi if he could get the support of more legislators.

"A representative of BJP, who is an old friend, came to meet me in my house after [Lok Sabha] polls and we were sitting for a long time together. He asked me to come over and join them and build the nation with them. He said I am CM material and with my name some others will also come over," Vishwas claimed on Saturday.

He said BJP also sought the support of 12 AAP legislators along with him and the man had claimed that he has the sanction of top leadership of BJP regarding Vishwas.

BJP, meanwhile, reacted sharply to the claim of Vishwas.

"This seems to be like a new script written for Vishwas by Kejriwal," said BJP's Delhi unit president Satish Upadhyay.

Since the resignation as the Delhi chief minister in February, Delhi has been under president's rule.

The strength of The BJP in the Assembly is now 28 with three of the MLAs winning the Lok Sabha polls while AAP has 27 members.

AAP has time and again charged the BJP with horse-trading efforts.
