Kolkata: Two Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, Deepak Roy and Subrata Roy, joined the Trinamool Congress in Kolkata on Sunday.

They joined the ruling party in the state in the presence of Partha Chatterjee, Secretary General, West Bengal Trinamool Congress at the Trinamool Bhavan here.

Deepak Roy was recently appointed as the State Vice-president of BJP SC Morcha.

"The BJP is working with the real Tolaabaz people. The BJP is doing the suddhikaran of the tainted politicians," Deepak Roy said.

"BJP could not improve the condition of the states where they are in power. Mamata Banerjee is the pride of all the people of Bengal. It is not possible to work for Scheduled Caste people while staying in BJP. Didi has done a lot of development for the people from SC community," said Deepak Roy.

West Bengal is witnessing a tough political battle between the ruling TMC and the BJP ahead of the state Assembly polls.
