BJP condemns Maharashtra Minister Jitendra Awhad's  remarks on funeral practices of Hindus

Hyderabad/UNI: Telangana BJP unit on Tuesday condemned the remarks of Maharashtra Minister Jitendra Awhad on funeral practices of Hindus which is extremely derogatory and disrespectful to them across the country.

At a public meeting on Monday in Pune, NCP leader and Maharashtra Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad stirred a controversy by saying that Muslims could tell where their grandfather were buried but Hindus would not be able to tell the place where the cremation of their ancestors was performed.

To appease Muslims, the Minister has descended to a new low, to deride and insult Hindu rituals, State BJP Chief Spokesperson K.Krishna Saagar said in a statement here.

BJP wants to know, if NCP Chief Sharad Pawar endorses this deviant statement made by his party leader ? Has NCP become an anti-Hindu party ?, he asked.

The BJP also demands Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to clarify on his Minister's anti-Hindu statements. The party strongly condemns the unwarranted and unprovoked insinuation by Mr Jitendra Awhad, Mr Saagar added.
