Birubala Rabha meets Assam CM

Guwahati, May 20 (IBNS): Birubala Rabha, who has been waging a war against witch hunting on Saturday, met Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the latter’s office in Janata Bhawan and apprised him of her proposed visit at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland and her mission to defeat witch hunting and its manifestations.

Hailing Birubala Rabha’s crusade against witch-hunting, Sonowal acknowledged her unrelenting efforts to educate the society against witch hunting.

He also assured all help to Birubala Rabha in her tirade against witch hunting.

Wishing Birubala Rabha a fruitful discussion at the Witchcraft and Human Rights Experts Workshop in Switzerland, Sonowal hoped that synergistic efforts of Birubala Rabha with her confidants and Government of Assam would result into a society deterrent to witch hunting. He also felicitated Birubala Rabha.
