Benjamin Netanyahu delays India visit again, cites security after Delhi bomb blast
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has confirmed that his planned visit to India has been postponed, with both countries now working to finalise a new date.
The clarification comes amid reports that the trip was delayed due to heightened security concerns following the deadly terror attack in New Delhi two weeks ago.
In a post on X, Netanyahu’s office stressed that the relationship between India and Israel—and between the two prime ministers—is “very strong.” It added that the Israeli leader has “full confidence in India's security under PM Modi,” and officials from both nations are already coordinating a fresh schedule.

Israeli media earlier reported that Netanyahu was expected to travel to India by the end of this year. The visit was pushed back after the Chandni Chowk bombing, the worst attack in the capital in more than a decade, which claimed at least 15 lives and injured dozens.
If confirmed, this would mark the third time this year that his trip to India has been cancelled or postponed.
Netanyahu last visited India in January 2018 on a six-day tour, making him only the second Israeli prime minister to do so.
He had expressed solidarity with India shortly after the recent Red Fort blast, offering condolences to Prime Minister Modi and calling India and Israel “ancient civilizations that stand on eternal truths.”
“Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls,” he said in a message shared on X, reaffirming the two nations’ shared resolve against terror.

The postponement comes days after Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met Netanyahu during his three-day trip to Israel.
