Bengaluru techie dies in Kolkata office after falling from treadmill

Kolkata, May 20 (IBNS): A 24-year-old IT engineer from Bengaluru died after falling off treadmill at his workplace in Kolkata on Saturday morning, reports said.

According to reports, the incident took place at around 7:30 am inside the multi gym of IBM campus at DLF IT City area in Kolkata' New Town when the young techie, Amar M, was exercising there with his friends.

Amar's companions claimed that he suddenly fell off the treadmill and collapsed immediately.

The youth was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

However, after lodging a UD (unnatural death) case, local police have started investigation into the matter.

"We are examining the gym's CCTV footage and quizzing the eyewitnesses to get a clear idea of the incident," a police official told IBNS.

"His family members in Bengaluru have been informed about the accident," the official added.
