Bear Grylls doesn't know Hindi, with technology aid we communicated: Modi
New Delhi, Aug 25 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed his monthly radio broadcast Mann Ki Baat, where he revealed that Bear Grylls of Man VS Wild does not understand Hindi but with aid of technology conversed so smoothly with him.
"Some people ask me, of course with hesitation, that how I conversed with Bear Grylls. Technology helped us communicate. What I communicated in Hindi was translated in English for him with the help of a small device in his ear," Modi said.
The PM noted that he never thought that an episode of Man VS Wild would bring him so close to the youth across the world.
"Wherever I go as Indian PM, youth ask me questions about yoga, wildlife and climate change. I am so surprised," he said.
Modi also informed that the Discovery Channel has planned to broadcast this episode of Man VS Wild in 165 countries in their languages.
As Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary celebrations are nearing, Modi said 130 crore Indians would dedicate an Open Defecation Free India to him.
He also urged to bring about a revolution against the use of plastic for the betterment of environment.
"Together we shall stop even a single use of plastic," said the PM.
This was Modi's third episode of Mann Ki Baat in his second term as the Prime Minister.
