Guwahati/IBNS: As a precautionary step to prevent the outbreak of deadly novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Assam government on Wednesday decided to ban the visitors' entry in the Janata Bhawan (Assam Secretariat) till March 31.

In an order issued by the Secretariat Administration (Nazarat) department on Wednesday, it has been stated that, in view of the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, it is necessary to restrict gathering in public places as well as office premises.

“Considering all other aspects and as a preventive measure, it has been decided that no visitor passes including e-passes will be issued till March 31. The visitors are advised to consider their concerned officers of their respective departments over telephone/e-mails for any urgent communication,” said the order copy.

Earlier, the Assam government had ordered to shut down all educational institutions, gyms, swimming pools and cinema halls of the state till March 31 as a precautionary measure to check community transmission of the deadly novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The state government has also taken a decision to close all the national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, tiger reserves, zoological parks and protected areas in the state till March 29.
