Assam BJP MP says good roads result in more accidents

| @indiablooms | Nov 02, 2019, at 01:27 am

Guwahati/IBNS: In a bizarre comment the BJP MP of Tezpur has said good roads result in more accidents even as bad roads continue to be a constant headache for the people of Assam.

“Good roads result in more accidents. Dilapidated roads force the youths to drive their motorcycles at a lower speed, which has reduced the road accident numbers," BJP MP Pallab Lochan Das said in a public meeting on Thursday in Tezpur on the occasion of the 144th anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

“We have constructed good roads and it has resulted in more accidents and loss of lives as youngsters don't feel the need to be on their guard while riding their motorcycles on these roads,” the BJP MP continued.

He went on to say, "There is no benefit in constructing good roads. Bad roads reduce accidents while good roads lead to more mishaps."
