New Delhi/UNI:  The Delhi government has sent a proposal to the Centre in view of the relaxations in lockdown post May 17, which are based on the suggestions and inputs from the public.

These suggestions primarily include the use of masks and emphasis on social distancing in the public places.

As per the Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, these are the primary suggestions for future course of action given by the public.

People, the Minister said, are in favour of starting bus and metro services on a limited basis with strict adherence to social distancing measures.

There are suggestions of opening malls, markets on a restricted basis wherein in formulas such as odd even can be considered.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a meeting with the sates Chief Ministers, had called in suggestions by May 15, in view of going ahead with relaxations after the lockdown 3.0 which is upto May 17.

After this, the Delhi government had invited suggestions from the public and received around five lakh responses.

Jain also said that earlier it was being said that the infection spread could reduce with the increase in heat in the hot weather but, this does not seem to be happening and now the focus should be on the rate of increase which is five per cent currently, he added.

Containing the spread, he said, is important but economy is also one of the important concerns and if all practice social distancing, wear masks, and regularly wash hands with soap, then the virus can be handled.
