Arvind Kejriwal asks PM to take action against Sushma Swaraj, Vasundhara Raje

New Delhi, June 23 (IBNS) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to act against External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje after their names emerged in the controversy connecting former IPL chief Lalit Modi.

Kejriwal said steps should be taken in the manner his government took actions against ex-Delhi Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar.

Tomar is currently in custody for presenting fake degrees.

"I want to tell the PM that the way I was lied, I think some of his ministers are doing the same thing with him," Kejriwal said in the Delhi Assembly.

"As soon as the matter came to light I took action against Tomar.  I request PM Modi to take action against Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhara Raje," said Kejriwal.

Lalit Modi and top BJP leaders are engaged in a controversy over helping former IPL commissioner's  application for immigration to the UK in 2011.

At the centre of a raging controversy involving the BJP bigwigs who reportedly helped him travel in Europe, Lalit Modi had earlier said he was taken to task by the former UPA government for no reason though even some ministers of that government had helped him, a claim that was denied by the leaders he named.

Besides External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje had helped former IPL commissioner's  application for immigration to the UK in 2011 too, said reports.

Meanwhile, amid ruckus, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA OP Sharma, who was protesting against Kejriwal, was marshaled out of the Delhi Assembly on Tuesday.

Kejriwal was speaking on the  issue of Tomar's fake degree when ruckus occurred in the house as BJP MLAs demanded the CM's apology over the issue.
