Udhampur, Nov 1 (IBNS): The Army's Northern Command Aviation Corps and the Corps of Intelligence celebrated its 28th Anniversary and 72nd Raising Day respectively in Jammu & Kashmir's Udhampur amid fervour on Saturday.

The Army’s Northern Command Aviation Corps celebrated its 28th Anniversary.

The Army Aviation Corps was raised on 01 Nov 1986 as a separate Corps, on this occasion various functions were organised by Officers, JCOs and Jawans with their families at various Army Aviation units.

In his message Lt Gen DS Hooda, GOC-in-C (Army Commander) Northern Command, complimented all personnel of Army Aviation Corps for their dedication, hard work and complimented them for their whole hearted support beyond the call of duty in recently conducted OP Megh Rahat relief and rescue operations in the state.

The Army Aviation Corps the ‘Arm of the future’ has not only performed exceedingly well in its role in support of the ground forces during operations but also in support of civil populations during aid to civil authorities.

Similarly, Army’s Northern Command Corps of Intelligence’s 72nd Raising Day was also celebrated at Udhampur.

Since its inception the intelligence Corps has been at the forefront, providing real time and close intelligence support to the Army, both in peace and war times.

The contribution of unsung heroes who operate behind the scenes has come in for appreciation in ‘Operation Pawan’ in Sri Lanka, ‘Operation Vijay’ in Kargil, ‘Operation Rakshak’ in J&K besides counter – insurgency operation in the North East.

The Intelligence Corps is an effective part of the national grid along with sister intelligence agencies.

With complex Intelligence challenges emerging in modem warfare, besides internal security issues, Intelligence corps has evolved over the years both in human and technical intelligence fields as a potent force multiplier.

Army Commander, Lt Gen DS Hooda, while extending his greetings to personnel of the Army’s Northern Command Intelligence Corps urged them to continue working in the spirit of the corps motto ‘Sada Satrak’.
