Guwahati, Jan. 3 (IBNS) : The Congress in Arunachal Pradesh faced further setback after two out of three Congress legislatorson Monday joined the BJP.

After the crossover, the strength of Congress reduced to only one in the 60-member house.

The Assembly secretariate of the frontier state has accepted the defection of Congress MLAs Wanglin Sawin and Gabriel Denwang Wangshu.

Sawin represents the  Khnosa East constituency while Wangshu is elected fro Kanubari.

With the joining of two Congress MLAs, now the BJP-led ruling group's  strength has gone up to 49 with the support of one associate member and an Independent MLA.

The Congress is now being represented only by former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki.

Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday dropped three Ministers from his cabinet.

On the recommendation of Khandu, Arunachal Pradesh Governor B Shanmuganathan gave his ascent to the removal of the three Ministers- Rajesh Tacho, Tanya Byaling and Takam Pario.

Khandu also removed his two advisors and five parliamentary secretaries.

Pema Khandu and 32 others legislators of People's Party of Arunachal ( PPA) had joined BJP on December 31.

Arunachal Pradesh became a  full fledged saffron state following waves of mass defection from other parties.
