Shah had already toured the state of West Bengal, Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir of late, for the similar purpose.

According to various media reports, the party president is expected to attend more than 20 organisational meet in three days and also would visit certain communities.

On Thursday, Shah informed on Twitter that he had attended a meeting with several organisational post holders to discuss about the party.

The BJP ruled state will go for the assembly polls in 2018, a year prior to the next Lok Sabha election.

Shah was received by Chief Minister of the state, Raman Singh, on Thursday morning.

Singh even welcomed Shah on Twitter, to which the latter said: "Thank you CM @drramansingh ji for your warm welcome. It is always special to be in Chhattisgarh, one of the fastest growing state in India."

However, the Congress party said that they would stage a protest during Shah's three-day visit against the bribery culture developed in the state.
