Amarnath Yatra: Small batch of 984 pilgrims leave from Jammu base camp

Jammu/UNI: A small batch of 984 pilgrims, amidst the chants of 'Bam Bam Bhole, left Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp here on Wednesday for Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine in the South Kashmir Himalayas.

An official said that 984 pilgrims left the base camp in a convoy of 54 vehicles.

A group of 498 pilgrims (424 males, 69 females, and five Sadhus) left for Pahalgam in a convoy of 21 vehicles.

For Baltal, 486 pilgrims, comprising 353 males and 128 females, left in a convoy of 33 vehicles amid tight security arrangements.

The yatra, which started on July 1, will conclude on August 31.
