Akhilesh Yadav slams BJP over govt formation in Maharashtra

| @indiablooms | Nov 24, 2019, at 08:53 pm

Lucknow/UNI: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party and Maharashtra Governor B S Koshyari over the dramatic turn of events that saw Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar taking oath as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, respectively.

'Ab to lagta hai ki, jiska Governor uski Sarkar,'' the Samajwadi party president said.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Shiv Sena and the Congress on Saturday filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the "arbitrary and malafide actions/decisions" of Koshyari in swearing-in of Fadnavis.

The Opposition parties have accused Mr Koshyari of acting in an unconstitutional manner.

''`BJP seems to be working tirelessly for demolishing the Constitution and the Independence gained by the country in 1947 after huge sacrifices,'' the SP chief alleged.

He said the democratic ideals and conventions established by the founder of Republic of India and being consigned to dustbin.
''For BJP, the end has become more important than the means and the ruling party is willing to stoop to any low to grab power,'' he charged.
