Ahead of swearing-in, PM Modi pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee
New Delhi, May 30 (UNI): On a day Narendra Modi will be sworn in as the Prime Minister for the second consecutive term, he started the day by offering homage to the Father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
President Ram Nath Kovind will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Prime Minister and his council of ministers on Thursday evening at the Rashtrapati Bhavan premises.
Leaders of BIMSTEC states will attend the solemn function.
Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth and President of Bangladesh Md. Abdul Hamid have already arrived to attend the ceremony.
Modi also paid homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his memorial Sadaiv Atal.
He also visited National War Memorial, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister on February 25 in memory of over 25,000 martyred soldiers.
At the War Memorial, he was accompanied by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman among others.
