Ahead of anti-CAA protests, section 144 imposed in Delhi's Mandi House

New Delhi/IBNS: Ahead of the anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act. 2019, march by the Swaraj India in the national capital on Tuesday, section 144 has been imposed in Delhi's Mandi House, media reports said.

The protest march will be held by Yogendra Yadav's Swaraj India from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar at 12:30 pm.

Congress top brass including interim president Sonia Gandhi had staged a dharna in protest against the CAA at Rajghat in New Delhi.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will hold a protest march against CAA for the fifth day in Kolkata on Tuesday.

DMK chief MK Stalin held a massive rally against the new controversial law, which will grant citizenship to non-Muslim refugees who came to India from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan before 2015, in Chennai.

Stalin's rally was attended by Congress veteran P Chidambaram.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lashed out at the Opposition accusing it of lying over the CAA.
