Agra bus accident: Congress condoles loss of lives; Priyanka Gandhi Vadra terms it 'shocking'

New Delhi, Jul 8 (UNI) The Congress has condoled the death of 29 persons in a bus accident that occurred in the Yamuna Expressway, early Monday morning.

 

"Our deepest condolences to the families of the victims of this tragic accident

. We pray for a speedy recovery of the injured", the Congress tweeted.

Congress general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh (East) Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also termed the incident ''shocking''.

"The mind is distracted by the agony of the families who have lost their loved ones. May God give them the power to endure this suffering. I wish the injured a speedy recovery," she tweeted.

Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus, carrying around 50 persons, hit the sideways and fell through a gap between two flyovers on the Expressway.

Twenty-three people were injured in the incident. A preliminary investigation stated that the driver dozed off at the wheel and hit the divider.
