'Acknowledge, appreciate & applaud you' Shatrughan Sinha's praise for Narendra Modi for evacuating Indians from coronavirus hit China

New Delhi/IBNS: Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha, who joined Congress in 2019 after remaining an in-house critic of BJP for years, on Monday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for evacuating Indians from China in the wake of Coronavirus outbreak.

“With an attitude of gratitude, I salute you & your people for having done the needful in an emergency situation so soon, as I always say soon, sooner the better,” Sinha said in a series of tweets on Monday.

India has evacuated more than 600 people, mostly students, from Wuhan, the epicenter of Coronavirus outbreak that has killed at least 360 people, reports have said.

The Air India flight that landed on Sunday from China brought seven Maldivian nationals, who have been kept in quarantine facilities in national capital Delhi.

Sinha, who has been a bitter critic of BJP and Narendra Modi, surprised everyone with his thank you note. His rift with the party became visible after he was not given a ministerial berth when Narendra Modi formed the government in 2014. He joined the clan of former BJP ministers like Yashwant Sinha and Ramjetmalani who attacked the Narendra Modi-led national coalition with the sharpest criticism.

The former Patna Sahib MP finally left BJP and joined Congress ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. He was defeated by a huge margin from Patna Sahib by Law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

"Say soon, sooner the better. Long Live our people from #China. Hope, wish & pray that the #CoronavirusOutbreak settles down soon & our children, students/ Indians are safe, hale & hearty. May rest of them also be rescued as soon as possible. Jai Hind!#CoronavirusOutbreak," Sinha further tweeted .

His praise for Narendra Modi and Amit Shah comes at a time when he is in Delhi to campaign for Congress for the the Assembly polls on Feb 08.
