AAP releases Delhi poll manifesto with women safety promise

New Delhi, Jan 31 (IBNS) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday released the poll manifesto of the party promising to make Delhi a safer place for women by use of internet and gadgets like Wi-fi connectivity and CCTV cameras.

Releasing the manifesto, Kejriwal said he would make Delhi fully wif-fi city and would ensure that a woman in need can reach police and get help within five minutes of falling into any trouble.

He said there will be free wifi all over Delhi and will move towards solar energy.

The former Delhi Chief Minister said he will bring down VAT (Value Added Tax) to minimum.

Elaborating his vision, he said if voted to power AAP plans to install CCTV cameras in DTC buses, bus stands and in crowded places as a deterrent against crime.

AAP will provide effective last mile connectivity in Delhi’s public transit system, he said.

"We will make Wi-Fi freely available in public spaces across Delhi. Citywide Wi-Fi cn help in bridging digital divide. AAP will work towards its connectivity to police, nearest PCR van, relatives and volunteer community with SOS button," he said on how women can be made safe.

AAP will set up Mahila Suraksha Dal or Women’s Security Force made up of a 10,000 strong Home Guard, he said.

AAP will ensure a 100 percent lighting of streets across the city, he said.

He said AAP will bring in complete transparency in Nursery and KG admissions by using centralized online system  and will regulate private school fees by publishing the fee structures and accounts online.

Students opting for further study after Class 12 frm Delhi will be given bank loans with the Govt standing as guarantor, he said.

He said AAP will build 2 lakh toilets across Delhi: about 1.5 lakh toilets in slums and JJ clusters and 50,000 toilets in public area.

He said AAP is committed to clamping down on Delhi’s powerful water mafia working under the patronage of political leaders.

"Our government will preserve and replenish local and decentralized water resources to augment Delhi's water resources," he said.

AAP will facilitate a phased shift to renewable and alternate sources of energy like Solar Energy, he said.

Aam Aadmi Party resolves to legislate the Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill after coming to power, he said.
