AAP govt announces maiden budget, allocates lion's share for education

New Delhi, June 25 (IBNS): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Delhi government on Thursday presented its first budget with a huge amount of which dedicated to education.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia presented the  Rs. 41,129 crore budget.
 
Nearly one fourth of the budget has been allocated to education aiming that all colleges and villages would be given free Wi-Fi. Rs. 9836 crore, has been allocated for education.
 
The AAP government allotted Rs. 50 crore for a Wi-Fi infrastructure in the city.
 
"Loans up to Rs 10 lakh each would be given to those interested in higher education. Girls will get the loan at 1% lesser interest rate. Six new working women hostels to come up in Delhi," Sisodia announced.
 
"This is the country's first Swaraj Budget prepared by the Aam Aadmi (common man)," Sisodia said.
 
A new "Swaraj fund" worth Rs. 253 crore has been announced in the party's first budget.
 
The government has announced Rs. 4787 crore was allotted to the health sector, with a plan to construct 100 new hospitals in the capital.
 
"Power tariff has gone up because of discrepancies in power discoms. We Will install 15 new sewer treatment plans," said Sisodia.
