AAP expels senior leaders, Bhushan calls the party a 'Khap Panchayat'

New Delhi, Apr 21 (IBNS) A day after four senior leaders were thrown out of the Aam Aadmi Part(AAP) due to gross indiscipline and anti-party activities, expelled leader Prashant Bhushan hammered the party and called it a 'Khap Panchayat'.

The AAP on Monday ended all speculations and expelled rebel leaders Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan and two others from the party.

Apart from Yadav and Bhushan, Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha have been expelled from the party.

On Tuesday morning Prashant Bhushan told reporters: "The AAP has now become a Khap Panchayat."

In a veiled attack on Delhi CM and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, he said: "There is a Tanashah  (dictator) in the Khap Panchayat and all other members are following his directions."

Yogendra Yadav said he has not yet received the order of expulsion.

"Still waiting for order of expulsion. If it was indeed a 'Disciplinary Committee' the least one expects is an order that states its grounds," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, founding member Shanti Bhushan has slammed Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and called him a 'Hitler'.

Comparing Kejriwal with Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, Shanti Bhushan told media: "He should also adopt Hitler's dress as he has already adopted his mannerisms."

Announcing the decision to expel senior leaders from the party, the AAP in a statement earlier said: ""The National Disciplinary Committee met on April 20, 2015 at 6 pm at 514, VP House to decide on the complaints against Mr. Yogendra Yadav, Mr. Prashant Bhushan, Mr. Anand Kumar and Mr. Ajit Jha."

"On the request of the respondents, the Committee had earlier extended the deadline for submitting their explanations by one day, that is, to 3 pm on April 20, 2015.  However the committee received the responses of Mr. Yadav, Mr. Bhushan and Kumar while Mr. Jha failed to furnish his response within the prescribed time," it said.

"The Committee carefully considered responses furnished by Mr. Yogendra Yadav, Mr. Prashant Bhushan and Mr. Anand Kumar and found them unsatisfactory," read the statement.

"The Committee reached the unanimous conclusion that Mr. Yogendra Yadav, Mr. Prashant Bhushan and Mr. Anand Kumar had indulged in gross indiscipline and anti-party activities. They have violated the Code of Conduct detailed in Article VI A (a) of Party’s Constitution," it said.

The party said the committee has decided to expel all the four members from the party.

In March, the Aam Aadmi Party had ousted rebel leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan from the National Executive adopting a resolution in a National Council meeting that witnessed extreme acrimony and allegations flying thick between two warring sides.
