Mysuru, June 23 (UNI): Police have arrested an 85-year-old man for making a hoax call to the BJP headquarters in New Delhi alleging that a bomb had been placed there.

Police said here on Sunday that the arrested man had been identified as Sungadaraju, a resident of the Siddaratha lay out. He had called the BJP office and claimed that a bomb had been planted inside the office.

The Delhi police who checked the call details traced it to Mysuru and alerted the local police.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested is suffering from age-related aliments and he also appears to be mentally unstable.

However, police commissioner K.T. Balakrishna said that Sugandaraju was very week and had been giving irrelevant statements during questioning.

Police will continue investigation on how he got the telephone number of BJP office in New Delhi.
