13 injured in J&K grenade attack

Shopian, May 9 (IBNS) At least 13 people have been injured in a grenade attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Saturday, police said.

According to reports, militants lobbed the hand grenade in the Shopian market.

Senior Police Official told IBNS that 13 others were injured in the attack.

A 13-year-old girl was critically wounded, the official said.

He said that militants wanted to  target a police van which was on the road in Batpora chowk of South Kashmir.

The official said the militants missed the target.

"The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment. The area has been cordoned off and searches started to trace the militants," said the official.
