125 Bengal schools, allegedly linked to RSS, served with Govt notice for religious intolerance

Kolkata, Mar 10 (IBNS) : The West Bengal Government has served notice to 125 schools, allegedly linked to the Rashtriya Swyam Sevak Sangh, the ideological mentor of the BJP, warning them against promoting religious intolerance, reports said.

Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said 96 of these schools do not even have certificates from the Government.

He said a website of the RSS claims the organization is running 300 schools in the state. 125 of these schools were reportedly listed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

"This is the first phase of the investigation. We are identifying those schools and if they are teaching on the lines of religious doctrines, they will be stopped," Chatterjee said.

These schools  reportedly run by private trusts that the ruling Trinamool Congress alleges are linked to the RSS.
