10-day lockdown clamped in Telangana amid Covid surge

Hyderabad/IBNS: Telangana government has imposed a lockdown for 10 days to curb the chain of coronavirus infection.

While Andhra Pradesh is under partial lockdown, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have imposed the shutdown till May 24.

In Kerala lockdown will continue till May 16.

There will be a relaxation from 6 am to 10 am daily, after which only essential services will be allowed for the rest of the day, the Telangana chief minister's office (CMO) said.

Complete guidelines will be released shortly, media reports said.

The decision on the lockdown was taken after a meeting of top state officials under the chairmanship of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
