Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) on Tuesday morning announced the results of Madhyamik (Class 10 board) examination 2021 with a record 100% pass percentage for the first time ever.

According to reports, 90% of the students scored 60% or more marks and secured 'first division' while scoring 697 out of 700 (99.58%), 79 students got the first position.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Madhyamik exam could not be held this year and the evaluation was based on the candidates' performance in their Class 9 examination and internal assessment for every subject in Class 10 on a 50:50 basis.

WBBSE President Kalyanmoy Ganguly during a press conference said that 100% pass percentage in Madhyamik exam was an all time record and it was at 86.34% last year.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated the students for successfully clearing the Madhyamik examination.

This year, 10,79,699 students, including 4,65,850 boys and 6,13,849 girls, had registered for Class 10 board (Madhyamik) exam.
