Agartala/IBNS: Tripura's groundbreaking efforts in promoting 'NIPUN' and its innovative teaching and learning materials attracted widespread acclaim at the G20 exhibition on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) held at Savitri Bai Phule Pune University.

The event, inaugurated by Union Minister of State Annapurna Devi, witnessed active participation from renowned international and national organizations including CBSE, NCERT, Microsoft, Google, World Bank, UNESCO, UNICEF, and several esteemed NGOs, reported Northeast Today.

Tripura's stall stood out with its bamboo-based Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs) and handcrafted TLMs, capturing the attention of students and teachers from Pune.

Vipin Kumar, IAS, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education, and other dignitaries such as SPD Samagra Shiksha from Madhya Pradesh and Secretaries of Education from Chandigarh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, and Bihar praised Tripura's initiatives for 'NIPUN.'

Led by Abhijit Samajpati, the Nodal officer of 'NIPUN' Tripura, a four-member team represented the state at the exhibition.

Tripura's 'Janbhagidari' program, part of the G20 initiative, has successfully engaged approximately 55% of the state's population, with activities spanning 15 days preceding the exhibition.

The NIPUN-PMU, operating under the Directorate of Elementary Education, meticulously planned and executed the strategic blueprint for 'Janbhagidari' initiatives across the state.

The primary objective of the program is to ensure universal acquisition of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) skills at the primary level by 2026-27.

The NIPUN-PMU, functioning under the Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), played a pivotal role in planning, implementing, and monitoring all NIPUN-related activities, earning recognition and sparking discussions among schools throughout Tripura.
