Swayam Siddha Awards: Kolkata organisation honours seven women achievers from the city

Kolkata/IBNS: Rotary Club of Calcutta Metro City felicitated seven women achievers from Kolkata at the 15th edition of the Swayam Siddha awards.

The awardees were -

Padmashree Preetikona Goswami for her contribution to revival of Nakshi Kantha (a traditional form of quilt making)

Olympian and Arjuna awardee for table tennis, Poulomi Ghatak 

Rupasree Roy for her yeoman service during the critical phase of the COVID 19 pandemic

Apala Dutta for her contribution in the field of education

Swati Bhattacharjee for her path breaking research and writings in the field of socio economic development

Vidushi Sutapa Talukdar for her contribution to Indian classical dance. especially Odissi.

Supriya Roy was conferred the first Lifetime Achievement Award for her service in the field of education and library science.

The recipients were presented with special handcrafted Swayam Siddha mementos along with a certificate, shawl and chocolates.
