Kolkata, Mar 22 (IBNS): Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) is going to set up its new extension campus at Itanagar for the benefit of the students of north-eastern states.

This educational institution which imparts all-round knowledge on cinema and film medium is a member of the International Association of Film and Television Schools – CILECT (Centre International de Liaison des Ecoles de Cinema et de Television).

It is also an autonomous institution under the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

SRFTI is developing state-of-the-art facilities at its extended campus in Itanagar to provide a creative ambience to inspire the budding film students of the North-eastern states.

The Itanagar campus will start a ten-week long short course called ‘A short trip to cinema’ from 15th May onwards in its temporary campus located at Vivek Vihar near SC Continental, Itanagar for the students who have just passed or appeared for the 12th class examination.

"Twenty students will be allowed to enroll for the course. Reservation will be as per Government of India Rules and upper age limit is 23-years as on 15/05/2017," read a government statement.

SRFTI is inviting applications for the course from enthusiastic students who are keen to acquire knowledge of the ‘basic apparatus’ and sensibility required in film making. Interested candidates may visit the website www.srfti.ac.in/ne to know the details and download application form and questionnaire.
