Mothercare opens one stop shop for all new parents in Kolkata

Kolkata, Aug 14 (IBNS): Mothercare, a global brand for parents, babies and children up to the age of eight, opened its new store at South City Mall, Kolkata recently.

Spread across 1,500 square feet, the store is located on the third level of one of the city’s retail hubs.

Mothercare is also present in New Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai, Chandigarh, Bangalore and Pune.

In line with its brand ethos, the Mothercare store is lit with pastel shades creating an atmosphere joy and positive energy for its shoppers.

Mothercare opened its first store in 1961 in Surrey.

Initially the business focused on pushchairs, nursery furniture and maternity clothing, but it subsequently expanded its range to include clothing for children up to the age of five and later up to the age of eight.

It now offers a wide range of maternity and children's clothing, furniture and home furnishings, bedding, feeding, bathing, travel equipment and toys through its retail operations in the United Kingdom, and also operates internationally through franchises in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.

The brand currently has 1,268 stores across 48 countries.
