Kolkata/IBNS: To celebrate National Youth Day 2025, Tata Consultancy Services CSR Youth Employment Programme in collaboration with the Placement Cell of Loreto College conducted an extempore competition and sessions in Kolkata to equip students with relevant skills and industry insights on January 8.

The session, aimed at enhancing the career prospects of students, began with a discussion on various career opportunities, contrasting the job prospects in the corporate sector with those in the government sector.

The speakers highlighted that while government jobs offer stability, corporate jobs provide more dynamic growth and competitive compensation, depending on the industry and skills.

A key topic of the event was instructional designing, especially in content writing, and its relevance in the rapidly growing EdTech sector. With companies like Coursera, Byju’s, and various online learning platforms on the rise, the role of instructional design in creating impactful content was underscored as a critical skill.

The discussion then shifted to Human Resources (HR) as the best career path, highlighting its strategic importance in organizational success. HR was discussed not just as a role focused on recruitment but as a key player in shaping company culture and employee development.

One of the most significant takeaways of the event was the holistic understanding of the way corporate and academic interviews take place, common questions, and answers relevant to the same.
