Kolkata: USIEF organises fair for Indian students

Kolkata, Aug 11 (IBNS): The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), jointly with KIC Univ Assist, on Monday hosted a University Fair at the American Centre in Kolkata for students who desire to pursue higher studies in the USA.

Representatives from fifteen US universities participated in the fair to provide detailed information about their institutions as they focused on undergraduate level programs.

Participants included University of Washington, Seattle, University of Arizona, Michigan State University, Purdue University

Andrew Posner, Public Affairs Officer of the US Consulate General said, "US India bilateral relationship has a tremendously strong pillar in education."

Shevanti Narayan, Regional Officer at USIEF Kolkata, said, “We are delighted to host U.S. institutions at the American Center to help facilitate direct interaction with students and parents."

Students from different educational background walked from stalls to stalls and  asked  about various courses offered by these American universities.

A class 12 student Dipanjan Hazra, who wants to pursue with weapon designing course in future said: “You don’t get enough information on the internet about this rare subjects and these fairs give me the opportunity to have a face to face conversation with the experts  from various US universities."
