Kolkata/IBNS: Kangaroo Kids Education Ltd (KKEL), the promoter of Kangaroo Kids International Pre-school and Billabong High International School (BHIS), on Wednesday unveiled its plans to expand its network preschools and K-12 brands across Bengal.

The company expects to double its Kangaroo Kids pre-owned schools in the state from 14 to 30 by 2021.

At the same time, it expects to open its first ever K-12 school under Billabong High International by next year.

KKEL presently has 14 Kangaroo Kids International Preschools in the state that are franchise centres – most of which are located in and around the city of Kolkata.

The 14 international preschools currently cater to approx. 900+children through 100+ teachers. The company expects demand for quality international pre-schools and K-12 schools to be propelled by the burgeoning IT & real estate sectors in Kolkata and across the state.

It has set sights on key towns, namely - Asansol, Siliguri, Bardhaman, Durgapur and Kharagpur as the next markets to spread preschool education.

The current expansion plan will be based on a franchise model.

However, there might be some company-owned schools – mainly for its K-12 brand Billabong High International School.

Commenting on the expansion plans, Siddharth Bhaskar, AVP Franchisee Operations, KKEL, said, "We live in a dynamic world where the focus is now beyond academics – at Kangaroo Kids we have taken conscious steps towards instilling or developing skills like critical thinking, problem solving etc. as well as inculcating habits of the mind like persistence, collaboration, curiosity. The goal is to empower children not just to survive but to thrive, as they grow into responsible adults navigating their way through an everchanging world. This is powered by our researched, neuroscience based curriculum."

"Having a strong presence in Kolkata through chain of international preschools, we believe that there is an immense potential that awaits us in the State – both in terms of offering world-class education to children and also a personally & professionally rewarding business opportunity in the education space to existing and potential franchise partners.Being the No.1 most trusted education brand in the country, we are constantly seeking growth opportunities and we see a large untouched potential across towns in Bengal,” said he.
