Srinagar: The Government Fee Fixation Committee (GFFC) Saturday restrained private schools of Jammu and Kashmir from collecting the admission fee from the students.

Besides restraining the private school management from charging the fee, the Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools ordered the management to pay back the admission fee amount to those guardians who have already paid it.

The newly appointed chairman for GFFC Muzaffar Hussain Attar in an order said, “All the management and owners of the private schools are restrained from collecting admission fee from the guardian of the children at the time of admission in their respective schools.”

He said that if any private school has collected admission fee same shall be paid back to the concerned guardian.

“The guardians who have paid admission fee are at liberty to provide information of the same to the administrative officer Fee Fixation Committee in person or through email,” Attar said.

He further said that the decision about all other issues including fixation and regulation of all types of fee will be taken after considering view points of concerned parties.

“In order to streamline the fixation and regulation of fee by the private schools, many decisions would be required to be taken, of course and where deemed necessary after giving the opportunity of hearing to concerned parties,” Attar said.
