As the nation observed Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice, France, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) marked a significant milestone by surpassing 113 patents, reflecting its steadily growing culture of innovation, creativity, and translational research.

Bharat Innovates 2026 aims to showcase India’s innovation and deep-tech capabilities on the global stage by connecting Indian startups with international partners, thereby accelerating technology commercialization, entrepreneurship, and innovation-led economic growth.

Over the past few years, IUST has built a vibrant innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem through the establishment of state-of-the-art incubation centres, innovation hubs, maker spaces, and technology-enabled platforms that support ideas from conception to commercialization.

This achievement stands as a testament to the ingenuity and dedication of IUST’s faculty, researchers, students, and innovators, underscoring the university’s emergence as a leading innovation-driven institution in the country.

Through sustained mentoring, financial support, and an enabling policy environment, the university continues to empower young innovators and startups to develop solutions that address pressing societal challenges while contributing to economic growth.

IUST’s efforts have also received national recognition from the Ministry of Education, Government of India, further reaffirming its commitment to fostering innovation-led education and entrepreneurship.

IUST Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo said, “We firmly believe that universities must evolve from being centres of learning and knowledge creation alone to becoming engines of innovation, enterprise, and societal transformation.”

He added that IUST remains committed to nurturing the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and job creators who will contribute meaningfully to India’s scientific, technological, and socio-economic progress.
