Bangalore, Mar 23 (IBNS): The students of Greenwood High International School organized their first ever TEDx event-TEDxGWHSchool, under the auspices of TED.
The event saw participation of around 100 students from various schools in a gala event filled with speakers, thought-provoking video and conversation. The theme for this event, which was an independently organized TED event, was ‘Transcending Synapses’. The event had eminent personalities sharing ideas on the massive platform.

The event, curated over the last seven months through organized efforts of the students, offered a platform to unleash new ideas, inspire and inform the students across the city. Focusing on its theme, the event revolved around Cultural Gaps, Language and Misunderstanding and ‘Why Ideas Take so Long to Spread’. The event hosted renowned urban vigilantes as guest speakers who spoke about their experiences and ideas in the context of this theme.

Speakers such as Subrat Mohanty, Manoj Kabre, Radhika Nathan, Dr. Raju Gubbi, Meera K, Nelson Vadassery spoke at length about their journey and shared their inspired narratives with the attendees at the event.

Niru Agarwal, Trustee, Greenwood High International School, said, “Obtaining a license for organising a TEDx event is a herculean task. We have always been supportive to the students and trust their capabilities to execute an event independently. The event was well thought and intricately planned by our students who had responsibly delegated work amongst themselves. We are glad that our institution has got the opportunity to host such a prestigious event. We always encourage our students to come up with new ideas and innovations and hope that this event will help bring out many such ideas among the participants”.
