Globsyn Business School aims to make the hybrid learning model more immersive for students
Kolkata/IBNS: It is ‘learning beyond education’ which will help students adapt to the demands of the corporate world in the post-pandemic phase, a phase which is being referred to as the new normal, said Bikram Dasgupta, founder and Executive Chairman of Globsyn Group.
He was addressing students and other guests at the 18th Annual Convocation of Globsyn Business School (GBS).
Over 185 students from the B-School’s postgraduate management programmes were felicitated at the event.
Abhijit Roy, MD and CEO, Berger Paints India Ltd was the chief guest.
R.C. Bhattacharya, Vice-Chairman, GBS, administered the Convocation Oath.
Other guests included Aloke Mookherjea, former Senior Advisor, Ernst & Young LLP and Chairman, Flakt (India) Limited, who is also a Governing Council member of GBS and the Chairman of the Convocation Committee; members of the Governing Council and Academic Council, faculty of the B-School, parents of the students graduating, and GBS alumni.
Presiding over the event, Dasgupta said, “In this ‘new normal’, it is important that a sense of sustainable development is inculcated in the lives of the students, environmentally and socially, as they go through their management education; only then it will become easier for them to adapt to the demands of the corporate world as they step into the industry.”
Rahul Dasgupta, Director, GBS, said, “I am very happy to see the graduating batch, who have witnessed the seamless transition from a pre to a post-pandemic academic delivery.”
He also said that the institute has seen ‘a successful placement season with a very high average package’.
According to members of the business school, it has in these past couple of years, taken relevant steps to ensure student-friendly programmes such as synchronous or virtual classes; face-to-face or traditional physical classroom models; asynchronous or pre-recorded classes, self-learning techniques, and hybrid learning – empowering students with an opportunity to choose their own learning path.
In the next few years, the B-School plans to transform its pedagogy by integrating AR and 3D videos with traditional techniques to make the Hybrid Learning Model more immersive and self-paced, the organisers said.
