Bhajan icon Anup Jalota and Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee pay musical tribute to womanhood in Hyderabad concert

Paying their tribute to womanhood, Bhajan Samrat Padmasree Anup Jalota and  GiMA award-winning percussionist Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee regaled the audience in a Hyderabad concert on the International Women's Day on March 8.

Sangitanjaly Foundation organized the musical event ‘Jhankar’ at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Hyderabad, to celebrate the day.

Held in association with the Department of Language & Culture, Government of Telangana, and in support of Autism Ashram, the programme featured both artistes who held the audience in thrall with their soulful renditions.

A member of the audience who said they thoroughly enjoyed the performances  yearned for more as Sangitanjaly Foundation Chairman  Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee said it was the perfect platform to celebrate the spirit of womanhood.

"This musical tribute event of Anup Jalota ji celebrated the spirit of womanhood and recognized the invaluable contributions of women in our society. It was an enchanting evening of music, inspiration, and celebration," commented Bhattacharjee.

Jalota performed bhajans, geet, ghazals, and Bollywood songs like "Aisi Lagi Lagan", "Rang De Chunariya" and many more.

“His performance was a testament to his mastery over the art form and his ability to connect with the audience on a deeper level,” said a member of the audience.

A jugalbandi between Anup Jalota and Pt. Mukherjee was a highlight of the show. Pt. Mukherjee also performed a solo percussion piece.

The audience gave a standing ovation to the artists for their performance.

Anup Jalota said that he was excited to be able to celebrate Women’s Day in Hyderabad and his popular Meera bhajans reflect eternal love and spirit of womanhood.

Pt.Prodyut Mukherjee stated that this event celebrated and promoted women empowerment in true spirits and left a strong impression.
