Audi launches the all new Q7 in India

Kolkata, December 12 (IBNS): German automobile manufacturer Audi on Friday launched the all updated version of Q7 in India. The new SUV will be available in two variants, the Premium Plus variant of the vehicle is priced at Rs 74.9 lakh while the Audi Q7 Technology variant is priced at Rs 79.74 lakh (ex-showroom Kolkata).

The all new Audi Q7 is available with only one engine option and that is the 3.0-litre TDI, diesel which is capable of producing 249 hp and developing 600Nm of torque, propelling the Audi Q7 from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.1 seconds. The engine comes mated to a 8-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox while Audi's quattro AWD system ensures that power is distributed to all four wheels.

“The all-new Audi Q7 encapsulates the cutting-edge technology that is at the dynamic than its predecessor. Lightweight yet extremely powerful, the class-defining SUV offers unprecedented performance with exceptionally fuel efficiency. The all-new chassis of the SUV is made up of multi- material body that provides comfort while its eight-speed tiptronic transmission allows drivability that is both agile and comfortable,” said Joe King, Head, Audi India.

The new Q7 is up to 325 kg lighter than its predecessor with fuel consumption of 14.75 kmpl.

Audi has introduced many changes in the all new Q7. The design of the SUV has been changed, the new Q7 looks sharper. Matrix LED headlamps has been added to gives it a distinct look. As compared to its predecessor, the new SUV looks much bolder with LED tail lamps and the 20-inch alloy wheels.

The new Audi Q7 comes equipped with the latest MMI infotainment system navigated via MMI Touch. There's also the Audi sound system, the music interface with two USB ports and a Bluetooth interface. Audi has also added a 12.3-inch 1440x540 pixel Audi Virtual Cockpit screen.

“Q7 has been one of the most successful car in India since years. The old Q7 ha got us remarkable figures in India. We were in the top ten in the world in terms of sale. The biggest challenge our engineers and designers was how to improve the older version of the Audi Q7 which was already a very successful car in Inida,” said Gaurav Bajaj, Director, Audi Kolkata.
