New Delhi/IBNS: Tech giant Apple on Friday announced it will open its fifth retail store in India as the iPhone maker continues to accelerate its retail expansion in the country, media reports said.

The upcoming outlet will be located at DLF Mall in Noida, a key city in Uttar Pradesh that forms part of the National Capital Region (NCR).

Apple said the new store will feature a “peacock-inspired” barricade design, continuing the vibrant campaign theme used for its recent launches in Bengaluru and Pune.

With the Noida opening, Apple’s retail footprint in India will rise to five locations. The existing stores are situated in BKC (Mumbai), Saket (Delhi), Hebbal (Bengaluru) and Koregaon Park (Pune).

Apple opened its first India store at BKC on April 18, 2023, followed two days later by the Saket store. The Bengaluru and Pune stores were launched earlier this year on September 2 and 4, respectively.

The Noida outlet will be Apple's second store in the NCR, after the Saket location, which alone contributed nearly 60% of the ₹800 crore revenue generated by the first two stores during their debut year.

The expansion comes at a time when India is rapidly emerging as a key retail and manufacturing hub for Apple, particularly as the company prepares to manufacture all iPhone 17 models in India.

Apple India reported ₹79,378 crore in revenue in FY 2025, an 18% jump from ₹67,122 crore in FY 2024 — amounting to approximately US $9 billion in sales.

Why Apple’s Fifth Store in India Matters

1. Signals India’s rise as a top-priority market

Apple rarely expands retail aggressively unless a market shows strong, sustained growth. With India becoming one of Apple’s fastest-growing regions — hitting nearly $9 billion in FY25 sales — a fifth store confirms India is now central to Apple’s global strategy.

2. Strengthens Apple’s premium brand ecosystem

Apple Stores aren’t just retail outlets; they are brand theatres.
A new store:

  • deepens Apple’s premium presence,

  • boosts product discovery and high-value sales,

  • increases access to services like Today at Apple, Genius Bar, trade-ins, and AppleCare.

This enhances the full Apple ecosystem — hardware + services + retail experience.

3. Supports Apple’s Make-in-India expansion

A larger retail footprint pairs naturally with Apple’s manufacturing ramp-up in India (iPhone 14/15/16 lines being assembled locally).
More stores:

  • push more locally-made devices,

  • reduce import dependency,

  • promote India’s role as Apple’s alternative to China.

4. Helps Apple capture the booming premium smartphone category

India’s premium smartphone segment (₹30,000+) is growing at double digits.
A new Apple Store:

  • improves penetration in metro clusters,

  • boosts walk-in conversions,

  • directly competes with Samsung’s and OnePlus’ experience stores.

5. Strengthens Apple's services revenue

Physical stores drive more sign-ups for:

  • Apple Music,

  • iCloud+,

  • Apple TV+,

  • Apple Arcade,

  • Apple One bundles.

This is Apple’s highest-margin business — key for long-term growth.

6. Enhances customer trust and after-sales reliability

Apple-authorised retail is still limited relative to market size.
A new store means:

  • better access to repairs and genuine parts,

  • shorter service turnaround,

  • higher customer satisfaction — a longstanding challenge in India.

7. Expands Apple’s influence in emerging tech hubs

Each new store is strategically chosen.
Depending on the city (likely Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, or Chennai), Apple strengthens presence in India’s:

  • developer communities,

  • high-income urban centres,

  • tech-savvy customer bases.
